The DITA paradigm shift

The adoption of DITA requires a fundamental shift in the roles and processes in a technical writing and publishing organization. There is a lot to know in making a shift from a “book-oriented” methodology to a “topic-oriented” one.

In addition, there are critical technologies that are needed when shifting from a book paradigm to a DITA paradigm where 500 documents, for instance, can generate tens or even hundreds of thousands of topics in multiple languages. Managing this volume of structured content requires a technology infrastructure to ensure success.
