Webinar: S1000D and Multimedia

With S1000D comes a whole new way of producing and delivering technical content:  Multimedia. 

They say that a picture is worth a thousand words, and if this is true, then the right multimedia can be worth hundreds of thousands of words! 

Using multimedia in S1000D IETPs provides numerous benefits to both the creators and consumers of technical content. On the creation side, a single CAD drawing can be used to produce a 3D model, a line drawing, an animation, or a virtual task training module. And multimedia content can vastly reduce the number of words that need to be authored for a given task.  For information consumers, multimedia provides just-in-time training, which can reduce broken parts and allow junior technicians to perform difficult procedures that previously required a senior technician to get involved. Non-native English speakers in particular benefit from the liberal use of multimedia in an IETP deliverable.

Multimedia is the future of technical content!  The new generation of warfighters and aircraft maintenance technicians who have grown up with the internet and video games have high expectations for dynamic and interactive content.  To keep today’s workforce engaged, there is no better way than delivering multimedia with your IETPs.
